Delete your account
This page explains how to delete your account in the Origin and Sessio apps, published by Sessio ApS, and what happens to your data when you do.
1. Delete your account in the app
- Open the Origin (or Sessio) app and sign in.
- Go to Settings.
- Tap Delete account.
- Read what happens, then confirm with Delete.
You are signed out on every device immediately, and a 30-day countdown starts. If you sign back in before the 30 days end, your account is restored. After 30 days it is permanently erased.
2. Delete your account without the app
If you no longer have the app, email legal@sessio.io from the address you signed up with and write "Delete my account" in the subject line. We confirm by email and delete the account the same way, with the same 30-day window. We answer within 30 days.
To have some of your data deleted without closing your account, email the same address and say what you want removed. In the app you can also delete any scan finding or claim draft yourself at any time.
3. What is deleted
- Your profile: name, email address, photo and the other details you added.
- Your identity details: the names you release under, your IPI, IPN and society member numbers.
- Your drafts, estimates, messages and chat threads.
- Your sign-in sessions and device push tokens.
- The result of any identity check, and the matched writer name. We never keep the ID photos themselves.
Claims Sessio filed for you stop. Claims a collecting society already holds stay with that society; we cannot pull them back.
4. What is kept, and for how long
- What your scans found about works and recordings stays as facts about those works, without your name or numbers.
- A signed mandate is kept for the life of the mandate and three years after it ends, because a society may question a filing in that time. Deleting your account revokes the mandate.
- Accepted agreements and authorisations (splits, claim authorisations) are kept for the life of the agreement plus the legal limitation period.
- Records we must keep by law, such as tax records, are kept for up to 7 years.
- Support emails are kept for 3 years, and server logs for 30 days.
- On records shared with other people, such as a session you co-hosted, your name is replaced with an anonymous identifier.
The full list, and your other rights, are in our privacy policy.
